Frame Server 8.7.6.0​

Tech Preview Frame Overlay File System 1.5.4.0​

We are announcing the release of Frame Overlay File System (OFS) to Tech Preview. OFS will be Frame’s new stateless driver for non-persistent workload VMs. With this release, OFS will be disabled by default.

Frame Console 3.55.1​

Added:

  • New feature within Account Dashboard > Settings > Domain Settings to automatically delete the Active Directory computer object associated with the Frame instance when the instance is terminated (as part of the Publish process or when reducing Max Instances for an Instance Pool). Frame Console 3.54.0​

Frame Base Images 2304​

Added:

  • [AWS, Azure] New consolidated base OS images that includes drivers for both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. Customers can now leverage all supported instance types within a single Frame Account (based on instance availability within the particular region for the customer's cloud subscription). Consolidated images are available for all supported OS versions.

  • Tech Preview [Azure] Windows 11 base OS image is now available in Azure for non-vTPM-enabled VMs.

Frame Console 3.53.0​

Frame Console 3.52.2​

  • Support for two separate configuration sources: external and local. Local configuration mechanism allows updating SGA configuration (e.g., certificates, CIDR ranges, etc.) without re-deploying SGA. Configuration and sources are managed using the command-line utility sga_config:
    • sga_config set and paste SGA configuration YAML when prompted to set/update local configuration
    • sga_config source local and sga_config source external to switch to desired configuration source
    • sga_config apply at any time to apply configuration from the selected source
    • sga_config show to display configuration

Frame Guest Agent 1.9.2​

Added:

  • Windows Update Service is now disabled by default for non-persistent workload VMs. Windows Updates should be run on the Sandbox and then published to production.
  • If a Frame Workload VM fails to register with Frame Platform within eight (8) minutes after provisioning, Frame Guest Agent will enable RDP (Windows) or SSH (Linux), respectively, so admins can connect into the Workload VM to investigate.

Frame Console 3.47.0​

Added:

  • New Maintenance Mode when enabled, prevents users from starting new sessions on an Account. Users will see a message in Launchpad indicating that the Account is under maintenance. Administrators are still able to start sessions to Sandbox and Utility Servers when Maintenance Mode is enabled.

Suspended VMs do not incur GCP compute costs; however, the storage costs are incurred for storing the VM memory and persistent desktop disk.

Frame Server 8.5.17.0​

Added:

  • Frame will no longer force open applications to close when the Frame session is closed by the user. For Sandbox and Persistent Desktops, this means application state will be preserved from session-to-session unless the VM is rebooted between sessions. Customers can preserve previous behavior by using a post-session script to force apps to close when the Frame session is closed.

Fixed:

  • Issue where attempts to resume an FRP8 session may freeze while β€œAllocating resources”.

  • Issue where Frame printing may fail on Accounts deployed on private networks due to CORS policy change introduced with Chrome/Chromium version 104.

  • Additional reliability fixes.

Deployment of the Nutanix Frame Agent 22-07-26 Release was previously halted after bugs were identified in customers’ Early Adopter Accounts. This release contains all the changes included with the 22-07-26 Release along with additional reliability fixes. This is reflected in the release notes below.

Frame Agent 1.8.15.0​

Data Availability​

Nutanix has established a Data Availability Policy for transaction data (Session, Usage, Disk Usage, Elasticity, User Activity, Session Reports, Audit Trail, Session Trail, Tasks, and Notifications) available from the Frame Console. Customers who need transaction data beyond the stated availability periods are advised either (a) to download the transaction data manually from Frame Console or (b) retrieve the data through an automated process using Frame Admin API on a monthly basis and save the transaction data in their own systems. Customers in need of transaction data older than what is available through Frame Console may make a one-time request to Nutanix Support for the archived historical data.
